چکیده

The hexane insoluble fraction of the Garcinia dulcis (GD) flower extract comprises mainly camboginol and morelloflavone which possess potent in vivo vitro antioxidant properties. This study aimed to evaluate effects 4-week oral administration GD on arterial blood pressure (ABP) excretory function kidney 2-kidneys-1-clip (2K1C) renovascular hypertensive rats (total=12) compared sham operated (SO) normotensive Wistar (total=12). Four weeks after hypertensive-induced surgery, either 50 mg/kg BW or vehicle was orally administered 2K1C SO groups (n=6/group) daily for four weeks. ABP renal were studied anesthetized rats, expression endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) mRNA isolated thoracic aorta measured. In significantly decreased while increased eNOS levels. did not exert a diuretic effect since there no change observed urine excretion, but it tend attenuated tubular damage caused by hypertension. anti-hypertensive this model hypertension problably acts via signaling pathway.

Oral calcium treatment lowers blood pressure in renovascular hypertensive rats by suppressing the renin-angiotensin system.

The effects of calcium supplementation on blood pressure and its mechanisms were investigated in two-kidney, one clip renovascular hypertensive rats. Two series of experiments were performed: one was begun just after renal artery constriction, the other after the onset of hypertension. Calcium supplementation significantly attenuated the development of hypertension (systolic blood pressure: 183...

Connexin 50 mutation lowers blood pressure in spontaneously hypertensive rat.

We assessed the effect of the previously uncovered gap junction protein alpha 8 (Gja8) mutation present in spontaneously hypertensive rat - dominant cataract (SHR-Dca) strain on blood pressure, metabolic profile, and heart and renal transcriptomes. Adult, standard chow-fed male rats of SHR and SHR-Dca strains were used. We found a significant, consistent 10-15 mmHg decrease in both systolic and...

Angiotensin II AT(1A) receptor antisense lowers blood pressure in acute 2-kidney, 1-clip hypertension.

To test the effectiveness of antisense oligonucleotides targeted to the angiotensin type 1A (AT(1A)) receptor mRNA on blood pressure reduction, the 2-kidney, 1-clip (2K1C) Goldblatt model of hypertension was studied in the acute phase of hypertension, when the peripheral renin-angiotensin system is overactive. A single injection of AT(1A) receptor antisense oligodeoxynucleotides significantly r...

Oral administration of L-arginine decreases blood pressure and increases renal excretion of sodium and water in renovascular hypertensive rats.

The two-kidney, one-clip renovascular (2K1C) hypertension model is characterized by a reduction in renal flow on the clipped artery that activates the renin-angiotensin system. Endothelium dysfunction, including diminished nitric oxide production, is also believed to play a role in the pathophysiology of this model. Some studies have shown an effect of L-arginine (L-Arg, a nitric oxide precurso...

Aspirin lowers blood pressure in patients with renovascular hypertension.

To clarify the role of renal prostanoid in hyperreninemia and high blood pressure in human renovascular hypertension, we measured prostaglandin E2 and renin activity in renal venous and abdominal aortic plasma before and after the intravenous administration of the cyclooxygenase inhibitor, aspirin DL-lysine. Subjects were six patients with unilateral renovascular hypertension and six with essen...
